MBABANE — Jubilations are in order for Khetsiwe Zwane, who recently became the proud owner of a brand-new Nissan Navara double cab bakkie, courtesy of OK Foods.
Zwane, a resident of Sidwashini, emerged as the lucky winner in a competition organised by the OK Franchise Division of Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd. Her journey to winning the coveted prize began innocently enough with the purchase of a packet of Simba potato chips. “I didn’t even realise I was buying a participating product,” she shared. Zwane recounted that
visiting OK Foods with her sister is a cherished tradition, and on this particular day, she indulged her cravings with the chips and a slice of cake, spending approximately E150.
She received a text shortly after, confirming her purchase as part of the competition, but initially paid little attention to it. “Later, I was
called and told I had won the car. I couldn’t believe it!” Zwane said. Well-wishers have flooded Zwane with congratulatory messages, many eager to know her secret to success.
Comments ranged from heartfelt congratulations to playful envy: “Yes, all the Zwanes deserve nice things. Congratulations, my sister,”
commented one person. Another said: “I need to know your prayer, my sister.
How did you do it?” “Here’s to a happy new year! Such blessings,” added another Facebook
User. The competition, which began on 23 October 2023 and runs until 29 December 2025, is open to residents of South Africa, Namibia and Eswatini
aged 18 and older. Entrants qualify purchasing participating products and swiping their Count On! Loyalty Card or, in South Africa and Namibia, entering a unique code via SMS or USSD.
Each purchase of a participating product grants one entry, but only one entry per transaction is allowed, even if multiple eligible products are purchased. Zwane mentioned that the car is still not with her as she awaits the presentation soon.
